The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has invited Nairobi County, Senator Hon. Sakaja Johnson to speak at the Education for Justice (E4J) International High-Level Conference. The conference themed β€œEducating for the Rule of Law: Inspire, Change, Together” will see the young distinguished Senator address Global Leaders on the same.

The Education for Justice (E4J) initiative is an innovative and comprehensive educational initiative designed to support educators teaching the next generation to better understand and address problems that can undermine the rule of law. The Initiative is part of the Global programme for the implementation of the Doha Declaration, which was adopted by the Thirteenth United Nations Congress on crime prevention and criminal justice 2015.

The invitation comes only weeks after the Hon. Sakaja Johnson was ranked as the best performing Senator and awarded the State Commendation β€˜Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear’ due to his extensive legislative work and contributions in the 11th and 12th Parliament.

Senator Sakaja has seen his global influence grow significantly in the past few years. Last year he addressed the Commonwealth Parliamentarians Forum alongside the newly elected British Prime Minister His Excellency Boris Johnson.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime headquartered in Vienna, Austria is a global leader in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime. The conference is set for October 2019 and will see United Nations Member States represented.
