The French government has pledged Ksh160 million towards Nairobi City County’s school feeding program, Dishi na county, which will go towards feeding learners in public schools in the county of Nairobi.

The pledge was made by the French Minister of State for Development, Dr. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, when she joined Nairobi City Governor H.E Hon. Sakaja Johnson to serve today’s meal at Olympic Primary School, Kibra Constituency.

“We appreciate the goodwill of people in seeing that by the end of this year 250,000 are enrolled to the school feeding program”, said Governor Sakaja.

The money will go towards ensuring all children in Public Primary Schools and ECDs get a nutritious hot meal through the programme’s implementing partner Food for Education.

“The school feeding programme has given the young ones an opportunity to be what they dream to be, as they will have a chance to gain knowledge”, she added.

The Governor and Minister were joined by European Union ambassador to Kenya, French Ambassador, Kibra MP Mwalimu Orero, Sarang’ombe MCA, Woodley MCA among others.
