Governor Sakaja Supports 20 Girls at State House Girls School

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja paid an impromptu lunch visit to State House Girls School on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. During the visit, Sakaja interacted with the students and listened to their aspirations and dreams. He was impressed by the students’ determination to get an 8.2 average this year. Sakaja also announced that he would be supporting an additional 20 girls who have fees challenges by paying their entire year’s fees.

Government to Revive Nairobi Urban Transport Improvement Project

The government has set aside Ksh. 5.6 billion to revive the Nairobi Urban Transport Improvement Project (NUTIP), which was initiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion in Nairobi by improving the city’s public transport system.

The project will be implemented by the National Transport and Infrastructural Development Authority (NHIDAA) and will involve the construction of new bus rapid transit (BRT) lines, the upgrading of existing roads and footpaths, and the purchase of new buses.

Nairobi Kanjo Department Gets New Vehicles Worth Sh105 Million

On May 17, 2023, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja launched 19 new vehicles for the city’s inspectorate department, also known as Kanjo. The vehicles, which are valued at Sh105 million, are part of Sakaja’s plan to improve the efficiency of the department and its ability to provide services to the city’s residents.

The new vehicles include 10 double-cab pickup trucks, 8 water bowsers, and a garbage truck. They will be used to collect garbage, remove illegal structures, and enforce traffic rules.
