In the spirit of making Nairobi green and ensuring the Nairobi people stays and work in a clean environment, the Governor of Nairobi, HE Hon. Sakaja A. Johnson has released 27 trucks for garbage collection within the City.
This a milestone as the Governor approaches one year since he took over the leadership of Nairobi City County. He promised that he will ensure the Nairobi gains it’s glory of the Green city under the sun in due time.
The Governor called for cooperation from the residents and urged them to stop littering around and embrace cleanliness.
“We are moving Nairobi back to the green city in the sun and away from the city in garbage and this will ensure we have a dignified and clean environment for our people.”, He said.
The Governor added that its a worth investment for the sake of the health of each an every individual in the Nairobi.
The trucks are locally assembled and will be working 24 hours a day.
The Deputy Governor, Njoroge Muchiri applauded the project terming it as a milestone and worth investment for the Green Nairobi. He added that as time goes by the City will be one of the cleanest city in Africa.
