On May 17, 2023, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja launched 19 new vehicles for the city’s inspectorate department, also known as Kanjo. The vehicles, which are valued at Sh105 million, are part of Sakaja’s plan to improve the efficiency of the department and its ability to provide services to the city’s residents.

The new vehicles include 10 double-cab pickup trucks, 8 water bowsers, and a garbage truck. They will be used to collect garbage, remove illegal structures, and enforce traffic rules.

Speaking at the launch, Sakaja said that the new vehicles would help Kanjo to better serve the city’s residents. He also urged the officers to use the vehicles responsibly and to treat the residents with respect.

“These vehicles are not for harassment, but for service delivery,” Sakaja said. “I urge you to use them to serve the people of Nairobi with dignity and respect.”

The launch of the new vehicles was welcomed by residents of Nairobi. Many said that the new vehicles would help to improve the cleanliness and order of the city.

“I’m glad that the governor has finally listened to our cries,” said one resident. “These new vehicles will make a big difference in the city.”

The launch of the new vehicles is a positive step for Nairobi. It is a sign that the governor is committed to improving the city’s infrastructure and services. It is also a sign that he is listening to the concerns of the residents.
